Tioga Pass is open!

Sorry folks I didn't dig deep enough. Caltrans has opened the pass but the park service hasn't finished their side.

I'm glad to see it open. You're right about those cyclists. They're getting more aggressive every year. Did two short taps on the horn to let them know I was coming and they deliberately moved into a 4 abreast formation instead of riding single line. Wish a cop had been around. I called it in to the local LEOs because these cyclists could have caused fatalities.

As of today 4/17/15:

Plowing began on the Tioga Road the week of April 13. There is no estimated opening date for the Tioga Road.

Never thought it even closed with the lack of snow we've had so far. Probably closed most of the time for road repairs this winter. Can't wait to cut through.

:@ The NPS website, the CA DOT site, and this site http://www.monolake.org/today/roads still show Tioga (120) as *closed*. (Badger Pass Rd. opened a couple weeks ago.)

Ca.Gov still reports it closed.
