So this drive is from south I5 (near Vancouver WA) to Port Townsend (or just south of that).
I5 to Olympia, and 101 up the Hood Canal is the most obvious, main route. But 101 follow a shore, so is somewhat curvy.
3 from Shelton to Bremerton is strighter. But 3 from there to Poulsbo is suburban freeway. Then the floating Hood Canal bridge and a good grade up on 104.
I can see going either way.
