Illinois toll plazas are not in the center of the road, as many states do. The plazas are not well advertised ahead of time and are easy to miss, getting you a ticket. When traffic is slowing and you think you are coming to a plaza, look to the right lane and begin to shift. The plazas are off to the right, away from the thru lanes.
