Toll roads

First off---MERRY CHRISTMAS!
There was some chatter on here awhile back about toll roads using one device in your vehicle for all tolls in all states. Did I understand this correctly?
For example; A Florida Sun Pass would be good up north?
In the Northwest, we're not familiar with toll roads--they're kind of a mystery.

    US-DOT supposedly mandated all States standardize on the EZPASS system, and those not compatible had to change over by the end of this year or next. I think that deadline has been pushed out...

    I read Illinois is the best value for EZPASS, no maintenance fee for keeping the transponder active.
