If we are going on a "destination" trip we use the interstate. Put it on cruise control, and let those in a hurry use the fast lane. I find it much less stressful than looking for the next turnout to let the line of cars pass by. We plan ahead for things we want to see along the way and leave the interstate accordingly.
On the other hand, if we are out to see a part of the country, we avoid the interstates like the plague.
