Apparently the ferry that crosses the Yukon River at Dawson City will not be starting up until June. The late break-up of the river ice is the reason.
Best advice is check at the tourist info centre in Whitehorse if you plan to visit Dawson and take the Top of the World Highway towards Tok. Make sure the ferry is running and also ensure the road crews have the highway clear (it isn't maintained in winter) and that the border crossing is open.
