It would help if you told us what type of attractions you're looking to see. In Gloucester there is only one campground and it didn't get good reviews. You might want to stay one night there and move on. Vermont and New Hampshire are beautiful. The Vermont Cheese factory and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream factory are fun to visit. When we went to Maine, we stayed at The Narrows Too in Bar Harbor. They have a free shuttle to take you into Acadia National Park. Are you interested in New York City??
