We have gone over the Bridge/Tunnel many times between 4-6PM. The traffic on the bridge is never that heavy. However, US-60 to First Landing does get rush hour traffic and there is a draw bridge that can back things up. If you are just stopping for the night, Kiptopeke is closer to your route. Getting to US-17 or staying on US-13 once over the bridge is pretty straight forward using the interstates. Sting Rays on US-13 not too far from Kiptopeke has always had decent seafood if you don't want to cook after arrival.
From First Landing, you either have to back track to where you got off US-13 or drive through town to get going South again.
