Travel from McAllen Tx to Kalispell MT in March?

Why go over Raton Pass in NM? (poor state, little snow-plow budget) Head up to Amarillo and then over to Denver and up I-25. About as flat as you can get. With the exception that it could snow anywhere during that time from McAllen all the way to Montana. Or safer, take I-35 through San Antonio and OKC to Wichita, thinking that the Interstates have snow removal.
