Travel Plaza NY and Mass I-90

Hi everyone! We are driving to Maine next month via I-90 through NY and Mass. We are wondering if the travel plazas have gasoline pumps in the rear where the semi's fill up. We have a 36' class A with a fuel neck behind the license plate + a toad. The plazas with angled gas pumps in the front won't work for our length. Any info would be appreciated ;) Plazas with straight pull throughs work fine (like Blandford Mass). Thank you!
  • Already have our EZ pass and not worried about fuel cost....it's vacation! Thanks!

ETA - oops, just realized you were asking about gasoline, not diesel. I don't recall seeing gasoline pumps near the truck diesel on NYS Thruway, just the front (car) pumps.

We just did this run a couple of weeks ago.

The travel plazas do have truck pumps, but diesel NY is running about 40 cents/gallon higher than Ohio and probably 25-30 cents/gallon higher than Mass. If you have the capacity, top off somewhere in Ohio (PA is close to NY in cost)

Be prepared for toll cost going across I90 in NY (Thruway). It could run close to $70 for a 2-axle motorhome pulling a car

  • I know they have diesel pumps where the semi's fill up, but I don't believe they have gasoline pumps back there. I don't think you will have a problem at the plazas for gas, as they are all straight through. Enjoy your trip.
  • Yes, all the travel plazas I have seen have stand alone diesel dispensers.
  • NY Plazas gas pumps will be easily accessible to you without any problems.
