You can't take propane through the tunnel in MD. You want to avoid the beltways around Baltimore and Wash DC at rush hour times, at all cost.
You may want to consider going down through DE, MD and across the Chesapeake Bridge Tunnel to VA. Much easier drive. It's beautiful out on the bridge. Propane is okay here, as long as it's turned off.
