If you have aT Mobile device, it appears that there are no roaming charges in Canada or in many other countries. We do not yet have a T Mobile plan, but we are planning a trip to Alaska this summer and are seriously considering getting a T Mobile hotspot for the trip. We have Verizon currently. They have a fairly reasonable roaming plan for voice and text, but their data roaming costs are very high. It looks like we can get a T Mobile device without a contract. T Mobile uses the same technology as ATT, so I suspect the coverage would be the same.
