Alfred, I agree, the windshield wiper fluid would be a great alternative or supplement for flushing the toilet, but I need to check and be sure it doesn't affect septic systems like auto antifreeze does. The RV antifreeze I know is biodegradable and will be ok. I have a block heater in my old Class C and will install another in our new unit. Also, I have a good battery tender that will be wired into the battery circuit and was hoping that the charger might negate the need for a battery blanket. I use an oil pan preheater on my aircraft and it makes sense to add one to the RV engine - good suggestion.
Also, another concern kI have is moisture in the oil circulation system. Aircraft engines have a breather tube to vent moisture from the crankcase overboard. Some include a water/oil separator. I have never heard of moisture in the oil of an auto/truck engine freezing and causing problems, nor do I know if it is possible, but I am going to confirm that there are no potential problems there as well.
