Traveling through Idaho, Utah in Late November.
We are moving back to Texas from Calgary and we are scheduled to leave on November 30th to begin the trek from Calgary, Alberta to Houston, Tx. We will be pulling our 36' Toy Hauler.
The route we have traditionally taken in the past after entering the U.S. was I-15, 90 to Billings then straight down I-25 through Wyoming, Colorado, Raton, NM and into Texas.
We are considering taking a different route this time which takes us down I-15 through Idaho to SLC, Utah, then maybe hwy 6,191 down toward Albuquerque or somewhere else in NM, then over into Texas.
I'm worried about the weather traveling through Wyoming and Colorado that time of year and secondly, we have never been to Utah so we though we would spend some time checking that out.
Question is, for anyone who has traveled that way, is the weather typically nicer that time of year in Utah -vs- Colorado and do you have any route suggestions to get from SLC to NM, TX which would offer the best roads, fuel stops etc?
