Traveling US 52 Cross-Country
So we are planning a big trip from Minot, ND to Florence, SC to see family. We always take the interstate and while safer and faster, we want to "see" America! Trying to stay on US 52 as this is one...

Calling a US# highway 'secondary' doesn't quite sound right. Sure, it's not an Interstate, but
(note - in NC nearly all roads, with the exception of those in municipalities, are maintained by the state. In most other states, counties are responsible for secondary roads.)
This Iowa county even calls it's road department the 'Secondary Roads Department'.
