Travelling from Nevada to Alaska in the Middle of Winter

I'm thinking of what would be best in winter conditions. I feel like a bottle jack might be best. The manuel tells me to jack it on the I beam that runs back to front. Am I risking damage to axel if I'm using the area near the U-bolt?
