Tucson to Show Low

Question

Looking for feedback from anyone who has traveled from Tucson to Show Low via Hwy 60 and Hwy 70 through Oracle, Globe, Salt River canyone area and up on to Show Low. I google earthed the route and can see the canyone part is a little winding and maybe 2 lanes.

RV park person highly recommended that I add the hour and go N to Mesa and take the 87 up through Payson.

Winding road with steep climbs but the scenery is beautiful.  Your rig will handle it alright.

Salt River Canyon is a blast on a motorcycle. Lots of steepness and sharp turns. I've done it many times on two wheels. I've also done it towing my condo. Not nearly as much fun as on two wheels but it's no big deal. 87 also works. I go that way when I'm moving motorhomes from Albuquerque to Phoenix.

I enjoy that drive...even towing it’s enjoyable. You’ll be fine with your rig...I’ve seen some underpowered folks overheat in the summer heat though.

But does it end up being about the same time given the hill climbs and turns etc on the 60?
