Look here and Tunnel Clearances read carefully. The fact is that all of the parkway tunnels are "barrel", so there may be as little as 10'1" at the road edge, in the center there is always a lot more room. Those low tunnels are all at the way south end of the parkway.
I suggest that if you might want to come through one of those, you develop a plan that includes a person on foot and radios. The person on foot can hold up the traffic if necessary and watch while you carefully center up and slide through the tunnel. As I recall only one was long.
Maybe someone with a bigger rig and better experience and memory will come along. Until then, keep working the plan even if you have to bail off before the south end.
Matt - RoyBExplorer IIHere is neat listing on-line showing the mile markers and min/max heights you will encounter. Sometimes you have to move to the center line and go through...
BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY TUNNELS
This is probably the same list but from the BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY HDQTRS
BLUE RIDGE HDQTRS PARKWAY TUNNELS
After looking at the list I see three or four where you will most definitely need to move to the center line to go thru. Most tunnels are very short and approaching cars will let you thru.
