PNW_Steve ,
Ask again when you have some idea of where you are going and what your route will be. We do go to a dentist in Mexico and though we have never needed to be put out we could find out. We think our dentist is very good and prices are very reasonable (cheap) and many people we know have gone there and we have heard no complaints - only happy customers.
As far as prescription medication - I am not saying this is legal or that it can be found anywhere but there are doctors who will write a prescription for around $25US. We have also been to a farmacia where if they know you or they know the person who knows you they will give you prescription medication charging you the $25US and then they get a doctor to write the prescription to cover the medication. But this is not something that can be done by just anyone or just anywhere. Controlled substances must be covered by prescription and all are accounted for. Not something for a newbie to attempt. "Making such an illegal purchase also puts the buyer at risk for various extortion scams perpetuated by police officials (who sometimes work in league with the very pharmacy that sold the medication)."
