In June we found we could warm up by going inland and cool off by going to the ocean shore. Perfect weather that way! The Signal Hill right in St John's along with the surprisingly narrow passageway beside it to the port was most interesting. For those interested there are very important fossil beds to be seen on the southeast of the Avalon peninsula near Cape Race where the lighthouse radio station relayed Titanic's SOS.
