I was going to post this another thread, but this is a better place. For those visiting this year, take a trip to a local liquor store. You will see a variety of beverages with the Iceberg label.
In the spring some icebergs are "harvested" for their ice. Ice is broken off of bergs brought to shore where it is then sent to the distillery.
In a place just outside St. John's is a quaint village called Quida Vida (pronounced Kiddy Viddy) where they make beer from it. For harder beverages, there is vodka, or rum.
At Quida Vida they have tours if the brewery if you get there early enough, usually morning or very early afternoon.
