petrel, I noticed on the other site you asked about the toad. Lots of toads on big motorhomes in Alaska. The good news is they are relatively easy to connect/disconnect and can be put elsewhere in visitor parking on shorter sites. They are also useful for added storage, as well as transport. I see no problem with a toad. Much easier to manage than a 28' trailer, and a lot more maneuverable. If you have or want a toad, go for it.
You can camp on the beach at Ninilchik and a few other places on the Inlet, They launch and retrieve 30' charter boats in the surf using log skidders. I go down about once a year just to watch the action. Great fun, and some special skills.
