Fairbanks to Tok is easy driving and you already know how bad the highway is from there to Destruction Bay. Hope you can make it to Jasper and Banff NPs on the way, but the Icefields Parkway is not a fast route.
Incidentally, there is a very nice city park campground in Hythe, Alberta, just east of Dawson Creek. It is right next to the highway and has electricity and water at each site, a sanidump, and showers in an old railroad caboose. It is a very convenient overnight stop if you need one about there.
