2gypsies, you are right. He always says this and many of us - me several times - ask him where he got this info. And, of course he never replies. Why? Because, for some unknown reason, he made it up and says it. I think just to do it.
The only average stay of 3 hours I know is the ones who ride the hokey train ride from Williams and spend that time there and get the train ride back.
Or,you are right; a bus tour that does not overnight there.
These people can say they WENT to the Grand Canyon but they never SAW the Grand Canyon.....that takes at least 3 days. Early and late from all kinds of places.
I might also mention that over time one learns reliable sources here on the Forum - you have gotten good info from some on this thread.
