US-74 from Charlotte, NC to Wilmington, NC.???

Is US-74 from Charlotte to Wilmington any good? It has been many years since we have gone that route, and what I remember is a lot of congestion and stoplights along the way. Am I thinking of the ri...

For the most part, it's pretty good highway, but for the first hour out of Charlotte, you'll have congestion and traffic lights.
Still about the best way to make the trip between the two cities...I-40 is much longer, even if it's less congested (depending on the time of day).
