I think the best way with "Trailer Life Navigator" is to set the hours per day of driving. I have found it is pretty accurate by taking into account the type of roads. You can also set it to favor freeways or to favor US or state roads. It is also very easy to add all the "waypoints" and overnights and then see the resulting miles per leg of the trip. You can also set the start times and the stop times. For example start the day at 8:30 and finish the day by 4:00 pm.
