I live in Campbell River and have camped all around it. Your best solution would be to PM me and tell me about your rigs and whether you want power, full hook ups, or boondocking. There are about 15 choices within an hour.
A lot depends on when you plan on being here, and whether you want open sun camping, forested sites, age of kids and activities with them.
Certainly Elk Falls Provincial Park is one of the best for easy hikes to the falls, and to the fish hatcheries too. If you want a swimming pool for the kids, or a huge sandy ocean beach to play on, they are all options.
A bit further away there is more provincial parks, they are bring your own water and the price reflects the amenities, but some are absolutely beautiful in good weather.
