We will take the I20 route and watch the weather. One year DFW had an terrible 60 accidents ice storm and the next day the weather forecast was 50 degrees we just waited it out camped in Terrell till the next day.
I just discovered the Dallas/Ft Worth camera page. Wow how great is that seeing the road conditions in real time.

the ice is normally an every few years event here,but when we get it we get it big.
you might watch weather as Christmas week long range is coooooold,not Michigan Upper P cold but to us cold.
