You forgot US 26 from Mt Hood to Portland, and US30 from Portland to Astoria. From Friday early morning to late Saturday the route will be impossibly congested with walkers and runners. Hood to Coast has become a real monster!
That I left out, as while congested, not like the finish at Seaside! They do a great job of starting the slowest runners/walkers first and fastest last, so all show up in Seaside in about an eight hour window.
Runners do leave HY 30 just south of St. Helens.
I should add that from St. Helens to Seaside all running/walking is on back roads, and only affects local traffic.
They construct a temporary runner overpass in Seaside so that the runners don't affect traffic, but their support teams do!
If you are in the Seaside area, the finish is Great to Watch, as the whole team joins the runner of the last leg (leg 36) to cross the finish line on the beach!!!!
This is the course map for this year.
