The worst traffic is actually on HY 202 at exchange point 30, where the two vans of six runners each exchange running duties. Van #1 is done and headed for Seaside, Van #2 is waiting and runners trying to get a few hours of sleep before having to run the last six legs.
In the past we had to have the time keeper in Van #1 run the last mile to the exchange point, to beat the #6 runner from the same van the leg is only 5.3 miles, a 7 minute mile runs that in under 40 minutes. The traffic can backup for 1.5 miles or more.
