We are in .anybody want make suggestion

Ok plans are to leave around the first of June and arrive back the first of August from Idaho. Traveling with 5th wheel 32 ft.

My question is the route after Whitehorse head to Dawson City ,Chicken,Fairbanks,Denai, Anchorage ,Kenai peninsula ,Valdez, on home or reversed order? Hoping to make Dawson Creek around the third or fourth of June and then slow down.

Interest are sightseeing ,hike, beach combing ,not really into fishing

We have done the Canadian Rockies, and Skagway inside passage.
  • Good route to see a lot, but you might want to reverse it. Double check the Top of the World Highway for condition. Many times there will be closures due to snow or mudslides in very early June. If TOW is closed, I think the ferry over the Yukon River may also not be running. Excessive ice in the river due to breakup further upstream can also delay the opening of the ferry. You'll see a lot of the lakes through Canada will be partially ice covered. Back in 2006 we ran TOW in late August and the colors were spectacular. The tundra and high plateaus move into fall very early. We go up every 2nd year.
  • Are you on the 2016 Roll Call Alaska list? If not, check it out.
  • Was thinking a whole about Dalton . I was thinking more about interior and Kenani Peninsula .
  • What about the Dalton Highway?
We drove the MH to a free location just west of Livengood, then took toad up the Dalton to just past the Artic Circle.
We went up the Alaska Highway, then returned on the Cassiar, hitting Hyder/Stewart. Hyder/Stewart day trip from campground at Junction of Cassiar and Hyder Road.
