How do we know which roads, or routes are able to handle RV's?

I like to travel the side roads with our 96 Southwind, 37'. I usually just get off and take one that goes in the direction I'm traveling.
I've never had any problems.
Also, a lot of times the road running parallel to the Interstate is the 'old' road and was previously traveled by large trucks. So you won't have any problems on those roads.
