How do we know which roads, or routes are able to handle RV's?

I, too, disagree with comment about anywhere in the USA. There are just some conditions we don't want to stress ourselves with.
We bought DeLorme's Topographical software. You can put in the route you're thinking of and then see what elevations on the route are and what the rate of the climb would be (6%, 1% or undo-able). You can also tell if the route has switchbacks (didn't like those with a 36 ft motorhome and towing a Dodge Dakota PU. Good luck
