Weather apps for traveling?

Any recommended? Of course have "The Weather Channel". "My Radar" and a couple of others. Anything out there that perhaps starts with a map of the US, and allows you to zoom in to an area to look for high wind warnings, weather alerts, flooding, road restrictions and the like? Planning a loop trip from Minn to Virginia to Philly and back in a week or so and it would be nice to easily look ahead a day or two, especially for mountainous areas, to see what may lie ahead so we can adjust routing as needed.
  • If you have internet the best weather forecast is the local TV web site.
Say you're travelling between Nashville and Memphis. Go to both web sites and check the local weather. They know local conditions best. They will tell you when to stay off the road. What bridge will be affected etc.
    Has never let us down.

  • I've used Weather Underground for about 15 years - ever since I had my first personal weather station uploading to them. Their weather forecasts are the most accurate I've found and you can choose from several "flavors" of RADARs and forecast maps. I find their 10-day graphic forecast particularly helpful.

  • We usually flip the TV on when we stop, and look for one of the OTA (free) Weather Channels. They give great info, including some of the warnings you've mentioned.
The apps you mentioned are probably the only ones I'd use, Weather Channel and My Radar.
