One way for a vacation ?

Um, where should I draw the line on "one way" for this trip: central Virginia to UP Michigan, across the plains via US 2 to Redmond, WA; then across Puget Sound to Olympic Pennisula. From there down the coast to LA, then Vegas, St. Louis, Nashville, and on to DC, then home. Did not at any time go back the way I came on any road. Total dual loop was around 9,000 miles. Feel free to decide how much of the trip was "one way."
