Love going to Sandbanks - closest thing to a beach without driving 10 hrs. Not the best park as far as facilities (we always camp there with no hookups, bathrooms / showers / change rooms not great compared to other Parks, not tons of stuff to do other than the beach) and overcrowed (easily Ontario Parks 'busiest' campground at 99% occupancy during Jul-Aug in 2011 (next were Pinery at 94% and Killarney at 92%, similar stats in 2010 and 2009) but we still like it.
We'll just miss you at Sandbanks, we are there the first week of July. Have to agree on what you said above, we go every year, while it's not the best park ever, you can't beat it's amazing beach (although Pinery and Sable does come close)...
Also going to check out Bonnechere PP this year, it looks pretty nice...
