Do not try to take meat, chicken, eggs, vegetables or fruit across board.
Suggest getting most food after you cross. Depending on which crossing and route, stores area available in Canada.
I would suggest getting Canadian dollars at ATMs and not try to find bank to exchange.
Use your credit or debit card for most purchases. Check with your bank to see if they have a Canadian affiliate. Ours does so we pay no foreign fees or ATM fees. We get a kick back on fuel with our credit card, not ATM.
What border crossing are you planning on using? Main I-5 crossing can be a long wait. WSDOT has variable message signs that show crossing times. WA 539 or WA 9 at Sumas. Grocery store across border in Abbotsford or Chilliwack.
