Just got back. Due to my MIL's inability to move about freely (she's 86) I had to find something for us to do that didn't require hiking or anything strenuous. So I took them all to various sites by car and it worked out great. Alaska is breath-takingly beautiful no matter where you look. Needed to stay about six months!! I had no problem with the long hours of light which surprised me. The others said it didn't bother them either. Even though we had so little time we managed to see Seward, Whittier, Cooper's Landing, Talkeetna and a lot of Anchorage plus a side trip to Wasilla for MIL who is a great Palin admirer. I preferred to spend as much time as I could around Beluga Point watching the spectacular tides and hoping for whales.
