I have not seen this rocket display , but.........
in about 1986 or so i was doing one of my frequent trips driving from Bend Oregon to Salt Lake City .
it was my habit to work most of the day in Bend and then drive to call in person on customers in other towns , such as SLC. I would drive at night.
I was driving interstate 84 near Thiokol on the freeway on a moonless night.
All of a sudden the sky LIT UP near Thiokol and i later learned they were testing rocket motors at Thiokol Utah.
Fast forward to about 2000 or so . we took a february ? trip to Disney World Florida and got to experience one of the last night launches at the Kennedy Space Center. Once again LIT UP the night , visible for miles and miles.
