Well I watched the info here and decided to load up Mom and the canine kids and take off for AK to see the kids in spite of all my mixed emotions about it. We were going to do it next May but the stars have aligned and told us to do it RIGHT NOW!
So we're out of here and on the road on or about the 30th. Will move quickly from GA to Calgary, do Banff, Lake Louise, Icefields, Jasper etc. Then decide whether to go left up the Cassiar or right and up the Alaska.
My worries are fuel stops (about 220 miles per tank with safety),big foot, fires (will watch the web site) and am debating whether to throw some chains in the back as we are contemplating coming back down on or about Sept 15. I'd rather not haul them but????
