Which gps?
Hi Everyone, What is a good, reliable and inexpensive GPS for MX and Central America, and where should you get it? Any special software specific to MX that you'll have to buy as well? Thanks!

I broke down and bought the Garmin 2757LM. What a huge improvement over our old Garmin. Easier. Faster. Haven't gotten a whole lot of experience with it yet as we have only had it a week or so. And we have only been using it around Colorado. As with all GPS units I have seen it still makes mistakes and routes us on ways we can't figure out why it would go that way. But we can easily look at the whole route and make corrections before we head out - which should be done with all GPS units. This was very difficult or next to impossible to do with our old Garmin. Now it is easy. There are many new features. The larger screen is also a huge improvement. I have not yet tried route planning with Streets & Trips to send to the Garmin but hope to get that figured out soon. We bought ours direct from Garmin as everywhere we looked had the same price but Garmin had free shipping. Priced at about $220 I am thinking at this point it was a great buy. I may find reasons not to like it over time but so far I think we are going to be much happier using this for our car trips than we were with the old Garmin.
