We are traveling in a 40 foot Newmar w/tow from Kansas city to Santa Fe and GPS gives several routes..keeps telling me to down thru OK city but wanted to go 35 to 50 towards Dodge City then 412 to 25 ...

To tour Sedona, we like to stay in nearby Cottonwood at Dead Horse Ranch State Park. It's a short, scenic drive to Sedona and you don't have to deal with the awful traffic. You are close to Jerome for a nice lunch in this unique little town (don't take the RV) and there are a few great Indian ruins in the area to explore. You could also do a day trip to Prescott.
For Cottonwood from I-17, take 260 west (the Cottonwood/Camp Verde exit) - no roundabouts.
