I have no issue with WM at Whitehorse. This privilege of staying overnight at Whitehorse was abused to the extreme.
Unfortunately, BC and Yukon in recent years have been pushing the NO OVERNIGHT PARKING in their rest areas and even in the wide spots in the road. I don't know what generated this push, as the places we've seen newly posted were not heavily used, not trashed or otherwise soiled, and not particularly scenic enough to generate people looking for a vacation spot. Just folks looking to sleep overnight and be off in the AM. Right now we're generally ignoring the signs and see MANY others doing the same. If we're rousted out by RCMP or other LEOS, our days of traveling to Canadian locations will end. Their new policies are stupid to the extreme as there are few campgrounds open when we travel, Late April-early May and late August-early September. We've been to Alaska 8 times since 2006. Too bad, but the greedy somebody's (a few campground owners?)(probably driven by the idiot politicians) are going to shoot themselves in the foot...again...
