Why would anyone in their right mind go all the way to the Yukon and camp in a Wal-Mart parking lot? Why would anyone who lives there? Why?
If you're in the Whitehorse area for a seasonal job, it might be a pretty good option. Rentals are expensive, and hard to find at any price.
Explorenorth, I have to ask. Are you condoning seasonal workers staying at Walmart in Whitehorse?
Because they have no where else?
:?
A night or 2 but seasonal!!
I presume you don’t understand how ‘seasonal’ work plays out in remote areas.
Landlords don’t want to rent to folks for only the 4 ‘good months’ of the year and leave the place vacant the other 8 months, and people trying to pick up seasonal work for those 4 months don’t make enough to pay the $15+++k a year for a nothing bachelor apartment.
Campgrounds are much the same deal, the few there are want tourists paying premium prices, not the working poor.
Do you have a better option?
Ok where will they go when they can't go to Walmart?
