We usually do drink the campground water, but on our last trip to Alaska we had a really bad experience. I wish I could remember the campground, but after we hooked up to the water and had filled our holding tanks, we started smelling this terrible odor---it was the water. It took us two times of going through the purification/treatment procedure to finally get rid of the odor. From then on, I always check the campground water (for odor) before using.
