Wyoming Wind Indicator.

Crossed Wyo. back in the 50's and stopped for gas. The wind was really blowing. I asked the station attendant if the wind blew like that all the time. His answer was no, usually blows a lot harder.

Gene&Ginny - I did not! I was working for AMC, living at Lakes of the Clouds. We used to hike our radio batteries up to the Obs for charging (pre-solar!). We had a bit of leeway and chose NOT to make the trip in those conditions!!! The nights I have spent in the Obs (summit) have never been blowing at 100+. You apparently know the mountain! ST

The last time we were traveling near Rawlins, WY, it was so windy that we watched a chicken lay the same egg three times.

Wyoming is that windy area NW of Denver.

I worked on Mt Washington for a while. The "deck", which is part of the roof of the park building, has those 2-foot square concrete patio pavers on it. Some of them have been known to blow away!!! Visit http://www.mountwashington.org/ for more info! Including webcams! ST

I knew it was windy where we live & the wind turbines are popping up around here like dandelions but we certainly don't have to chain building down!!!

I'd pay real money to see that Mt. Washington chain blowing at 90 degrees..
