Sounds good, have to keep the wife happy and stop where she wants to go. Been there done that. Good thing I can whip a 35' FW back into someone's driveway and turn around quicker than most folks can in a car.
When we did the trip coast-to-coast in 8 weeks, my girls were 12 and 10. My only rule was no electronics while traveling as it was family time. We didn't have reservation most places so they had the choir about lunch time finding a campground for the night. They also each had an atlas so they could track our progress and help decide which way to go. As long as the general direction was right, went with their call. Made them feel like they had a big hand in the trip and kept their interest up.
In July you may enjoy Glacier more than we did. We got there in June the day after they opened up the Going to the Sun Road. The flag pole at the top was only about 10' tall due to the snow. So hiking up top was out of the question. The girls did enjoy the horse ride there, though you don't get any real good views on it.
Have fun, I think you are getting close to having a rushed but enjoyable trip.
