Personally I would spend less time in Yellowstone. It's a bit too busy with lots of traffic. We really liked Grand Teton better especially the trails at the south end near Jackson. Haven't been to Glacier yet, but that's a future trip.
When we did a Rocky Mountain trip a couple of years ago we spent 3 weeks going from Michigan to Santa Fe, NM to Taos, NM, to Ouray, CO and eventually to Grand Teton, spending 7 nights between Gros Ventre campground and Coulter Bay.
Spent a night at Curt Gowdy State Park just west of Cheyenne, WY. on the way back.
