WILL OVERNITE PAST KC,MO, & THEN CHEYENNE & ON IN. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON CAMPGROUNDS FOR YELLOWSTONE BASE CAMP.PLAN ON 2WEEK MIN. 2012 FORD F-350DRW 2005 LANDMARK GRAND CANYON
  • DW & I just returned from staying at "yellowstone's edge" RV park, (located approx 35 miles north of northern entrance at Gardiner). After having traveled through 13 states for 6-weeks, I can state that this one was definately at the top of our picks. Family owned, beautiful park next to river with amazing scenery. You can travel due north to I -90, turn right to go across to S. Dakota to see Rushmore. Don't forgot to see Crazyhorse. We stayed at J-Bar ranch in hill city, S Dakota.
  • Check campground closing dates and you could also get some snow at that time of the year
  • Do not miss the drive thru Bear Tooth Pass. IMHO this is the most beautiful drive in America. From Red Lodge, it will take you to the northern entrance of Yellowstone.
