We are currently on the Pacific side of Mexico traveling. Will be in San Antonio Texas 1st of October, Looking for travel buddies to join in for a trip to the Yucatan. Would like to leave between mid October to mid November. Anyone interested please let us Know...Thanks Randy

We will be leaving around 1 December (if the Mexican consulate or insurance company finally cancel our old temporary import license from vehicles wrecked and insurance finally paid - and vehicles now in insurance company hands) last year between Vera Cruz and Puebla.Sure would like an update on possible Camp Grounds. All we know of is Mahual, San Miguel, Puebla, and Villahermosa. Think the rest that Churchs' book mentions are now closed.Reed and Elaine

Tepetapan RV park, in Catemaco, Veracruz has been open 365 days a year for the past (over) 10 years. Not everyone closed.

We stayed in a really nice place in Catemaco three years ago but I have been told that is now closed. As one site noted "...Catemaco used to be a destination for many caravans crossing from Texas to the Yucatan peninsula. The advent of the toll road (cuota) bypassing Catemaco has greatly decreased that traffic.."The road south from Catemaco to Acayucan left a lot to be desired and we go lost going through Acayucan.Thanks for the informationReed and Elaine

Ha! everyone gets lost getting through Acayucan. Caravans still come through Catemaco although the big companies have pretty much stopped all travel the past couple years. That too will pass and people will start traveling again.,

Really did enjoy staying at Rancho Hermanos Grahm. The nesting Oropendelas were a hoot. There is or was a great spot just past Escarcega that was sort of a private wildlife area. We were there three and a half years ago and saw four new "life" (first time we had ever seen them) there. We are not sure if it is open either and now stay at the Bar Familiar half away across from Escarcega to Chetumal turn-off.Appreciate your information. Are there other places still open, other than all-night Pemex stations?Reed and Elaine
